Game With Me is available on iOS and Android.
Editor’s Note: If you or someone you know have an app using Backendless for its backend and would like to be considered for a future Backendless Spotlight, we want to hear from you! Send us an email with a link to the app or website and a description of how Backendless has helped them be successful.
About Game With Me
Game With Me was built for gamers by gamers. It is a social app designed to help gamers find other gamers to play with that share the same favorite games. Game With Me gives users the ability to create and customize their own profile with a variety of information such as location, age, gender, favorite games, and social accounts. These items allow users to narrow their searches using filters to find games that fit the profile they’re seeking for a fellow gamer. Thanks to Backendless’ cross-platform data morphing, Game With Me is available on both iOS and Android and users are able to interact across platforms.
Social Media Meets Gaming
Game With Me takes advantages of many functions within Backendless to make itself a full social media platform for gamers. We’ll let 17-year-old Game With Me creator Mudasar Javed tell you more:
Server code has been amazing with hooking up with other services, the querying system is really powerful, push notifications are easy to setup, security roles are great and when I found problems with the JS SDK they were quickly fixed.
[Backendless enables] really quick time to production, [is] super easy to develop with, and the SDKs are very similar across platforms. Backendless has enabled me to make the app I wanted and without it I simply couldn’t have.
Game With Me uses Backendless’ pub/sub messaging functionality to enable instant messaging among gamers and to open group chats where groups of gamers can communicate with each other. It takes full advantage of our easy-to-use push notification SDKs to ensure users are always kept engaged with each other by being notified of new activity. It uses Backendless’ Cloud Code to allow users to filter their searches for other gamers through custom SQL-based query parameters passed into the database. Cloud Code is also used to manage the user registration and login process for the app’s chat service.
All this functionality combined with a fast and clean UI (built with React Native) make Game With Me a social app to watch in the future. Mudasar, take us home:
I started developing with Backendless when I was 14 and clueless, you guys helped me make my first big scale project and enabled me to learn numerous different technologies. I’m 17 today with a tech job in the city because of the things Backendless enabled me to learn, and without it I wouldn’t be where I am today.
