General

You can visit most areas of our website without providing personal information. But we do require valid and accurate information when you register to download Backendless products or when you register to subscribe to the cloud-based service. This information is required to not only provide access to our products and services, but also to prevent internet abuses using Backendless resources. Backendless Corp. respects your need for online privacy and will protect any information that you may share with us.

Information We Collect

When you sign up for an account that requires registration or express interest in our services, we ask you for personal information such as your full name and email address. In addition, we collect information regarding the Internet Protocol address, browser type, browser language, referring URL, files accessed, errors generated, time zone and operating system of about visitors to our websites. In case of products or services requiring payment, we request credit card or other payment account information, which will be used solely for processing payments. If you are a user of Backendless services, we as well as the company responsible for processing payment information, also store and maintain your data, reports, account information and usage statistics, which are stored in your account in order to provide the services for which you are registered.

How Information Is Used

Your personal information such as full name, email address, phone number and company name are used to verify that you are who you say you are and you work for the company you say you work for. This information will also be used to keep you informed on new products/versions/updates/service packs, upcoming events and changes in this privacy policy. Any alternate email address, if given, will be used solely for the purpose of resetting password. We do not process or use the contents of your account information, test data or reports for any purpose other than to provide access to the services.

Your financial information will not be stored by us and will be used solely for processing payments. Subject to your prior consent and where necessary for processing future payments, your financial information will be stored in encrypted form on secure servers of reputed Payment Gateway Service Provider.

We use Internet Protocol address, browser type, browser language, referring URL, files accessed, errors generated, time zone and operating system of visitors collected in our log files to analyze the trends, administer the websites, track visitor’s movements and to improve our applications.

Unless requested to the contrary by the customer, we publish the names of our customers in the Customer List on our websites, press releases, advertisements, brochures and other promotional materials. From time to time we may ask customers to consent to providing case study information, which would be used for marketing purposes.

We use cookies for easier access to our websites. Once you close your browser, the temporary cookies simply terminate, except for the permanent cookies created when you select the ‘keep me signed-in’ option.
