We are excited to announce the addition of Backendless Navigator, available today in Backendless Console! Backendless Navigator is a powerful tool that lets you quickly and easily search within Backendless Console. Navigator can be used to search functional areas (such as “API services“), search for specific functions (such as “add new data table”), or search for documentation and video tutorials.
Navigator is easy to access – simply by clicking on the search icon or hitting ctrl+shift+F, you will pull up the smart search bar. Start entering your query and our smart search starts working instantly just like a search engine. If you find yourself using Navigator frequently, you can pin it to your Console interface by clicking the pin icon.
Backendless Navigator will automatically list a number of options related to your search term. These options update dynamically with your project, so you can navigate directly to specific tables within your project. When you have API functionality questions, Navigator provides links to our API documentation as well as the video content related to the topic.
Video content about a topic opens right within Backendless Console, so you don’t have to navigate away from your project.
Navigator automatically records all search queries. If the topic or content you are searching for doesn’t have a result, we will have a record of that search to help guide new content to be added later. Additionally, if we don’t have the answer you’re looking for, we provide a handy link to our support. That way, you can contact us directly to request the information be added. No identifying information about the user is collected when recording queries.
You will likely be able to find your answer at our helpful forums or through our dedicated Slack channel. We will be continually updating the content available through Navigator based on the most commonly searched terms and questions asked on the forum and Slack.
If you have any questions or comments about the new Navigator, please don’t hesitate to reach out an let us know what you think!
